These are journals I wrote during my first year learning how to use the SLR camera from a
canoe.
These include discussions on new experiences and things I have learned along the
way. I also include a lot of information on the areas where I photograph.  By reading these,

roseates are a no-show, the shorebirds are back,
pelicans are settled in for the winter.

Tripod in the water, September 29, 2007: setting up
for sunrise shots with the tripod, shooting without
image stabilizer is not the end of the word, mangrove
art, a giant blue crab & snowy egrets.

A new camera, October 13, 2007: choppy water,
cloudy sky, powerboaters, and a new camera on
board.  All these things posed challenges and new
learning experiences.

Everglades in the fall, learning the Flamingo area,
Osprey are beginning to nest and an island filled with
brown pelicans and cormorants.

River.  The white pelicans are back in Chokoloskee
Bay, two bald eagles, oyster catchers and a beautiful
paddle on the East River.
